Day One

5:00pm                  Depart home for Washington , D.C. Drive thru the night. Enjoy dinner (included), and breakfast (included) en route.

Day Two

9:00am                  Arrive in Washington , D.C and meet our GUIDE in front of Columbus Statue at Union Station and depart and continue with a tour of Capital Hill.

·         Stop for a photo opportunity and narrative tour of the outside of The United States Capitol. The most recognized symbol of democratic government in the world, the U.S. Capitol has housed Congress since 1800 and is one of the most imposing public buildings in the world.  The Capitol is where Congress meets to write the laws of our nation, and where presidents are inaugurated.  Its ceilings are decorated with historic images, and its halls are lined with statuary and paintings representing great events and people in the nation’s history.

·         Tour The Library of Congress. The Library of Congress is the largest national library in the world with more than 100 million items in three buildings. The original Library of Congress Building (now called the Thomas Jefferson Building ) is perhaps Washington ’s most richly ornamented building. (CLOSED SUNDAYS)

·         Tour The Supreme Court Building (pending time and length of lines). Within the walls of this white marble monument the third branch of government exercises its mandate to protect and interpret the spirit of the Constitution. If for any reason an inside tour is not available or the wait in line is extremely long our guide will conduct a tour outside the building. (CLOSED SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS)

12:00pm                Arrive at Union Station and enjoy lunch via meal voucher with free time to explore the shops. The city’s main train station is a classic Beaux-Arts design of monumental proportions.  Restored to its original grandeur in the 1980’s, Union Station features a large food court, a movie theater, shops and kiosks.

1:00pm                  Depart. And visit the following:

                                Stop at The National World War II Memorial.  This newest memorial honors the 16 million who served in the armed forces of the U.S. during World War II, the more than 400,000 who died, and the millions who supported the war effort from home. Symbolic of the defining event of the 20th Century, the memorial is a monument to the spirit, sacrifice, and commitment of the American people to the common defense of the nation and to the broader causes of peace and freedom from tyranny throughout the world.

·         Stop at The Vietnam Veterans Memorial.  This privately funded memorial has drawn millions who have come to touch the over 50,000 names, make pencil rubbings and leave flowers, letters, flags and personal mementos.

·         Stop at The Lincoln Memorial, overlooking the Reflecting Pool, was patterned on a classic Greek temple. Inside, inscriptions from his Gettysburg Address and Second Inaugural Address flank the 19-foot marble statue of our 16th President.

·         Stop at The Korean War Veterans Memorial.  The triangular field contains nineteen ground troopers, clad in foul weather ponchos, fully equipped for battle.  Representing those who supported the ground troops are hundreds of faces etched on a polished granite wall.

·         Stop for a photo opportunity at the White House.

3:30pm                  Visit Arlington National Cemetery . This is the final resting place for President John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Audie Murphy, prizefighter Joe Louis, and thousands of soldiers from every major U.S. war. Arlington House home of Civil War General Robert E. Lee, Space Shuttle Challenger Astronaut’s Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknowns are also located on these famous 612 acres.

5:00pm                                  Depart.

5:30pm                  Enjoy your dinner at the Hard Rock Café. Meal choices made upon arrival. Choice of the following sandwich options—Country Charbroiled Burger, a recipe from the Old South; Cheeseburger; Garden burger, meatless patty made from fresh mushrooms, onions, grains, low-fat cheese, seasonings and spices; Grilled Chicken Sandwich, or BBQ Pork Sandwich.  You may also opt for the Caesar Salad.  All platters served with French Fries, Lettuce and Pickle. Hard Rock Café Chocolate Chip Cookies for Dessert, and choice of coffee, tea or soda. Choose Upon Arrival. DO NOT BE LATE! Seats will not be held more than 15 minutes beyond your scheduled arrival time.  Groups are to enter through the E Street entrance. GUIDE drops after checking group in to dinner.

7:30pm                  Depart.

8:00pm                  Check into hotel. Enjoy the evening in the indoor pool.

11:00pm-5:00am                One (1) professional uniformed security guard on duty.

Day Three

7:00am                  Enjoy a continental breakfast or breakfast this morning before checking out.

8:00am                  Depart .

9:00am                  Visit Ford’s Theatre and Petersen House (pending length of line). Restored, as it was the night John Wilkes Booth shot President Abraham Lincoln, Ford’s is still an active theater. Visit the lower-level museum exhibiting Lincoln Memorabilia, Booth’s diary and one of his boots.  Cross 10th Street to the Petersen House to see where Lincoln died. DISCLAIMER: Ford’s Theatre may close at any time for performance rehearsals.

10:00am                Depart.

10:30am                Visit your choice of the Smithsonian Institution’s museums on the National Mall. The Smithsonian Institutions security policy is: All bags, purses, attaches, shopping bags satchels, suitcases, etc will be hand searched. To expedite this please bring only a small purse or fanny pack. DO NOT bring daypacks, backpacks, or luggage in to the museums. Most locker rooms have been closed.  DO NOT bring sharp items into the museums, such as knives (including pocket), screwdrivers, corkscrews, scissors, nail files, etc.  Enjoy lunch via meal voucher at the world’s largest McDonald’s located in the National Air and Space Museum.

·         * National Air & Space Museum . Experience the history of flight at one of the world’s most visited museum, from the plane flown by the Wright brothers to the Apollo 11 command module.  Features an incredible collection of aviation and space technology treasures.

·         * National Museum of Natural History. The Hope Diamond and dinosaur fossils and the world’s largest African bush elephant top the amazing natural treasures on display along with a live insect zoo.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO TEACHERS/CHAPERONES OF YOUTH GROUPS: An adult to youth chaperone ratio is being enforced. The museums policy requires that an adult accompany all youth groups at all times. One adult for every 5 students grades preK through 2. One adult for every 10 students grades 3 through 7.  One adult for every 15 students grades 8 through 12. Teachers and chaperons must remain with their groups at all times. The museums cafeterias have no provisions for groups who bring bag lunches. Groups may picnic on the mall if they choose to bring bag lunches.  Bag lunches may NOT be eaten in the museums.

1:30pm                  Depart.

2:00pm                  Visit Mount Vernon , the estate of George Washington. Here, he escaped the rigors of public office and enjoyed the life of a successful Virginia planter.  America ’s most visited historic house, Mount Vernon sits on a grassy, shaded slope overlooking the Potomac River .  Many of the furnishings are original pieces acquired by Washington himself.  Mount Vernon is both George Washington’s home and final resting-place.  This Southern plantation standing on the banks of the Potomac River details the life of the “Father of Our Country” while providing fascinating insights into Colonial times.

5:00pm                  Depart for Fredericksburg , VA.

6:30pm                  Enjoy dinner at Golden Corral, Fredericksburg , VA.

8:00pm                  Depart for Williamsburg , VA.

10:00pm                Check into hotel.

11:00pm-5:00am                One (1) professional uniformed security guard on duty.

Day Four

7:30am                  Enjoy a continental breakfast this morning.

8:30am                  Depart.

9:00am                  Meet our guides and begin your tour of Colonial Williamsburg including the Capitol and the Governor’s Palace.  The Capitol is where Virginia patriots developed principles of self-government, individual liberty and responsible leadership.  The Governor’s Palace reflects the period of Lord Dunmore’s residence, the last English governor of the Virginia colony.  After the colonists chose revolution, two commonwealth governors lived here. Virginia ’s restored 18th Century Capitol showcases a variety of restored and reconstructed homes and public buildings, museums, craft shops, taverns and special entertainment in its 173-acre historic area.

12:00pm                Drop guide and depart.

12:30pm                Arrive for a guided tour of Jamestown Settlement. Jamestown Settlement commemorates the first permanent English settlement in the New World .  It features full-size replicas of the three ships* that arrived in 1607, as nearly reconstructed as possible to show the size and hardships the hardy settlers had to face. The reconstructed Jamestown Fort is unique and seems to come to life with the costumed interpreters present to perform 17th century activities, and interact with the crowds. Don’t miss the Indian village and wonderful museum exhibits.

·         *Roughly 400 years ago these merchant ships embarked from England across the Atlantic Ocean to America , a voyage that would later set the course of American history. Learn about these ambitious pioneers and the hardships they faced.

·         Enjoy box lunch at Jamestown Café.

4:30pm                  Depart.

5:00pm                  Stop at Go Karts Plus and enjoy a pizza dinner this evening.  A two-hour wristband includes access to three thrilling fast-lane tracks, but they're just part of the fun at this action park! The mix includes an 18-hole miniature golf course, bumper boats, and bumper cars. Plus, there is a fully equipped arcade with shooting gallery, video games and games of skill.

7:00pm                  Return to hotel.

11:00pm-5:00am                One (1) professional uniformed security guard on duty.

Day Five

7:30am                  Enjoy a continental breakfast this morning before checking out.

8:30am                 Depart.

9:00am                  Take a guided tour of Yorktown Victory Center. Recapture the drama of the American Revolution.  Powerful new galleries tell the story of everyday people who lived during the war.  Costumed interpreters demonstrate 18th century military and domestic life on a re-created 1780’s farm site and in a re-created Continental Army encampment.

10:30am                                Depart for Virginia Beach .

11:45am                                Arrive and enjoy lunch (included) while exploring Virginia Beach .

3:00pm                  Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center (formerly the Virginia Marine Science Museum ).  One of the top marine science museums in the country, Virginia ’s largest aquarium recently tripled in size.  Become immersed in Virginia ’s marine environment through live animal habitats, interactive exhibits and The Fox Family Channel IMAX 3D Theater. Exhibits include a 300,000-gallon ocean aquarium housing sharks and other large fish, a 70,000-gallon sea turtle aquarium, outdoor harbor seal and river otter habitats, a salt marsh preserve and trail system, a decoy carver, sting ray touch tank, the Chesapeake Bay touch tank and aquarium, and “Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly”.

·         See a show (TBA) at The Family Channel IMAX 3D Theater. 

5:00pm                  Depart.

5:30pm                  Enjoy dinner this evening at Golden Corral-Virginia Beach .

7:00pm                  Depart for home. Drive through the night.

Day Six

                                Enjoy breakfast (included) en route.
